AAC-All Aluminum Conductor AS/NZS 1531 Overview

All Aluminum Conductors (AAC), designed to meet AS/NZS 1531 standards, are robust electrical conductors made entirely of concentric-lay-stranded aluminum wires. These conductors are ideal for various overhead line applications where a lightweight and corrosion-resistant solution is required.

Construction and Flexibility

AAC conductors are constructed from multiple layers of high-strength aluminum wires. They are available in various configurations, typically with 7, 19, 37, 61, or more wires, arranged in one or more layers around a central wire. Each successive layer features six more wires than the layer directly beneath it.

For overhead line applications, these conductors utilize full hard drawn temper wires to ensure maximum strength and durability.

Key Construction Benefit: The more wires in a given cross-sectional area, the greater the flexibility of the conductor. This is achieved by using smaller individual wires, making the conductor easier to handle and install.
