Conatact us

This cable is designed for overhead power distribution systems, specifically as 'tree wire' or 'spacer cable.' It's a type of covered conductor, not a fully insulated cable, so its performance depends on the entire system, including insulators and spacers. It does not carry a voltage rating on its own.

Construction and Materials

The core conductor is a compact stranded hard-drawn aluminum (Class 2), though other materials like ACSR and copper are also possible. A semi-conducting cross-linked polyethylene layer acts as a conductor shield. The primary insulation is high-density cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). An outer layer of abrasion-resistant, track-resistant XLPE provides extra protection against physical damage and electrical tracking. The cable is designed to be used with spacers on overhead distribution systems.

Standards and Ratings

The cable adheres to several standards, including:

ANSI/ICEA S-121-733 for Tree Wire and Messenger Supported Spacer Cable.
NTC 5909 (Colombia's standard for covered power cables).
BS EN 50397-1 (a European standard for covered conductors).

The cable's construction supports normal service temperatures of $7 5^{\circ}$ C for thermoplastic polyethylene (PE) and $9 0^{\circ}$ C for cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE).
