Description

The RTTZ (YTTW) cable is an upgraded version of the original YTTW cable, renamed and aligned with the national standard GB/T34926-2017, which is specifically for 0.6/1kV rated voltage and below mica tape mineral insulated corrugated copper sheath cables and their terminals. The RTTZ cable features multi-strand copper conductors, high-temperature synthetic mica tape insulation, alkali-free glass fiber filling, and a copper tape sheath that is welded into a copper tube and corrugated. In cases requiring special shielding, a polyolefin (LSZH) outer sheath can be applied to prevent exposure of the metal sheath.

Product Code Examples

For instance:

  • Copper-core mica tape mineral insulated corrugated copper sheath cable, with a rated voltage of 450/750V and 7×1.5mm² specification: RTTZ-450/750V 7×1.5.

  • Copper-core mica tape mineral insulated corrugated copper sheath with PVC outer sheath cable, with a rated voltage of 0.6/1kV and 4×95mm² specification: RTTVZ-0.6/1kV 4×95.

Performance and Advantages of RTTZ Cable

  1. Fire Performance:
The RTTZ cable exhibits excellent fire resistance, meeting the GB12666 national standard, and can endure water spray and mechanical impact. It is ideal for fire safety circuits and emergency power systems, offering a high level of protection in fire-prone areas.

  2. Long Continuous Length:
Whether single-core or multi-core, the RTTZ cable can achieve continuous lengths of up to 1000 meters, making it suitable for long-distance installations without the need for intermediate joints.

  3. Large Cross-Section:
The RTTZ cable allows for larger conductor cross-sections, with single-core cables reaching up to 630mm² and multi-core cables up to 70mm², accommodating heavy-duty applications and high-power requirements.

  4. Flexibility:
The RTTZ cable is flexible and can be coiled for transport and installation. The minimum bending radius is 6-10 times the cable diameter, depending on the specific installation requirements.

  5. Non-Toxic, Smoke-Free Burning:
With inorganic insulation materials, the RTTZ cable does not emit harmful gases or smoke when burned. It is an environmentally safe and green product, contributing to safe environments.

  6. Overload Capability:
The RTTZ cable is capable of carrying higher currents compared to conventional cables, with an overload temperature of 250°C. When installed properly, the cable can withstand overload conditions without damage or fire risks.

  7. Corrosion Resistance:
The copper sheath offers excellent corrosion resistance, and in corrosive environments, a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) or plastic outer layer can be added for additional protection.

  8. High Safety:
The RTTZ cable continues to operate in flame conditions, capable of functioning in fire for 3 hours at 950°C, which helps to power fire suppression systems, reducing the overall fire damage. The copper sheath serves as a grounding conductor, improving protection sensitivity and reliability.

  9. Long Service Life:
With high-temperature tolerance and resilience to aging, the RTTZ cable has a service life of over 100 years, offering exceptional reliability and low maintenance needs.

  10. Simple Installation and Transportation:
Flexible mineral insulated cables like the RTTZ are easy to transport and install, requiring minimal specialized personnel. Installation accessories and procedures are simple, and the cable can be installed like standard cables, making the overall process efficient and cost-effective.

  11. Cost-Effective:
Due to the advanced manufacturing process and simple installation requirements, the RTTZ cable offers a cost-effective solution, providing better value than traditional mineral insulated cables under similar conditions.

RTTZ Cable Installation Guidelines

  1. Installation Process:

    • The installation of RTTZ cables is similar to standard cables and does not require specialized personnel or extensive training. Technical support can be provided upon request.

    • The cable can be transported directly to the site and unwound according to the cable spool’s direction.

  2. Support and Fixing:

    • Horizontal supports: For cables with an outer diameter of ≤20mm, the maximum span is 400mm; for cables with an outer diameter of >20mm, the span is 800mm.

    • Vertical supports: For cables with an outer diameter of ≤20mm, the maximum span is 1500mm; for cables with an outer diameter of >20mm, the span is 1000mm.

    • The cable support should be made of non-magnetic materials (e.g., plastic or resin) for single-core cables.

  3. Cable Connections:

    • When making field connections or installing cable accessories, the fire resistance of the connectors must match that of the cable.

    • Ensure that the cable insulation is stripped to a length of 300mm at the ends, then press the cable lugs or connectors into place.

    • After installation, verify the insulation resistance between the copper sheath and conductor with a megger.

  4. Bending and Laying:

    • When laying the cable, ensure that sharp bends are avoided. The cable should follow a smooth arc, and twisting or right-angle bends should be strictly prohibited.

    • Use appropriate tools and avoid pulling the cable forcibly, as this may damage the copper sheath.

Summary

The RTTZ (YTTW) flexible mineral insulated cable is a highly reliable, fire-resistant solution that provides superior protection in demanding environments. Its high current carrying capacity, flexibility, and resilience to fire and overload conditions make it ideal for a wide range of applications, including fire safety systems, emergency power circuits, and high-temperature environments. The RTTZ cable offers an effective and safe solution for critical electrical systems.
