2-2-4 Solaster Aluminum Conductor Triplex Overhead Service Drop Cable Wire Application
2-2-4 Solaster Triplex aluminum wire has three conductors, with one of them being for neutral path, and two electrodes. Used to supply power, usually from a pole-mounted transformer, to the user's service head where connection to the service entrance cable is made. To be used at voltages of 600 volts phase-to-phase or less and at conductor temperatures not to exceed 75°C for polyethylene insulated conductors or 90°C for cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated conductors. A bare messenger wire of this electrical cable is bonded closely on the two insulated aluminum conductors, which are individually insulated with black cross-linked polyethylene for protection.
