The NA2XRH Cable is a multi-core, low voltage power and auxiliary cable designed for a wide range of fixed wiring applications. It features a stranded aluminium conductor, XLPE insulation, and a robust Steel Wire Armour (SWA) for enhanced mechanical protection. The key safety feature of this cable is its Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) sheath, which makes it an ideal choice for installations where fire, smoke emission, and the release of toxic fumes pose a potential threat to life and sensitive equipment.
Applications
This cable is engineered for power and auxiliary fixed wiring in environments where fire safety is critical. Its robust construction and fire performance characteristics make it suitable for:
- Power Networks: For distribution within low voltage systems.
- Underground Installations: Its steel wire armour provides mechanical protection for direct burial.
- Outdoor and Indoor Use: Versatile for fixed wiring in a variety of environments.
- Cable Ducting: Suitable for installation in cable ducts and conduits.
- Sensitive Environments: Recommended for use in public buildings, hospitals, schools, and other areas where fire, smoke emission, and toxic fumes are a significant concern.
Standards Compliance
The NA2XRH cable is manufactured and tested to meet or exceed the following international standards:
- Cable Standard: IEC 60502-1
- Conductor Standard: EN 60228
- Flame Retardancy: Compliant with IEC/EN 60332-1-2 (single cable test) and IEC/EN 60332-3-24 (bunched cable test, Category C).
- Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH): Compliant with IEC/EN 60754-1/2 (halogen acid gas emission) and IEC/EN 61034-1/2 (smoke density).
Construction Details
The cable is constructed with the following components:
- Conductor: Class 2 stranded aluminium conductor.
- Insulation: XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) provides a high-performance electrical barrier.
- Filler: LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material is used as a filler to maintain the cable's shape and integrity.
- Armour: A layer of galvanized round steel wire armour (SWA) is applied to provide robust mechanical protection against crushing and impact.
- Sheath: An outer sheath of LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material, designed to emit minimal smoke and no toxic halogens in the event of a fire.
