Aluminum Conductor Quadruplex Overhead Service Drop Cable

Service Drop Cable is a four-conductor aerial cable designed for delivering three-phase power from a utility pole to the service entrance of commercial or residential buildings. It consists of three insulated aluminum conductors (phase conductors) and one bare aluminum conductor (neutral messenger) twisted together in a quadruplex configuration.

This cable is self-supporting, highly durable, and suitable for overhead installations where reliability, weather resistance, and ease of handling are critical.

Key Features

  • Voltage Rating: 600 Volts (phase-to-phase)

  • Conductor Material: 1350-H19 aluminum or optional 6201-T81 aluminum alloy

  • Stranding: Class A concentric stranded aluminum

  • Configuration: Three insulated phase conductors + one bare neutral messenger

  • Insulation: XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) or HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), black, UV-resistant

  • Temperature Rating:

    • 90°C with XLPE insulation

    • 75°C with HDPE insulation

  • Meets or exceeds: ASTM B-230, B-231, B-232, and ICEA S-76-474

Applications

Quadruplex Service Drop Cables are typically used for:

  • Three-phase residential or commercial overhead service

  • Overhead power distribution from pole to building

  • Rural electrification projects

  • Permanent or temporary power installations

Not intended for underground use. Always follow local utility and code requirements.
