  • Design Specification: IEC 60502-1 - Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories for rated voltages from 1 kV ( = 1.2 kV) up to 35 kV ( = 40.5 kV) - Part 1: Cables for rated voltages of 1 kV ( = 1.2 kV) and 3 kV ( = 3.6 kV).

Construction Details

XLPE 3+1 Cores Cable Construction

The cable is constructed with the following components:

  1. Conductor: Plain annealed copper, available in Class 1 (solid) or Class 2 (stranded) configurations.
  2. Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) for high-temperature performance and excellent electrical properties.
  3. Filler: Non-hygroscopic material to maintain a circular shape and prevent moisture ingress.
  4. Binder Tape: A non-hygroscopic tape to secure the cores in place.
  5. Outer Sheath: A durable polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer layer for mechanical protection.
