This NFC 33-209 Aerial Bundle Conductor (ABC) Cable 3x35+54.6mm² is a low-voltage overhead power cable with a unique configuration. It consists of three 35mm² stranded aluminum phase conductors and a larger 54.6mm² aluminum alloy messenger conductor, all insulated with XLPE. The messenger conductor also serves as the neutral. The cable is designed for overhead distribution lines and complies with the National French Standard NFC 33-209.
Applications
This ABC cable is used to supply power to residential and rural areas. It's designed to reduce the risk of bushfires and is suitable for overhead distribution where reliability, safety, and low installation cost are prioritized. Construction Details
The cable's construction includes:
- Phase Conductor: Multistrand round compacted hard-drawn aluminum conductor insulated with black, weather-resistant XLPE.
- Neutral Messenger: Multistrand round aluminum alloy conductor insulated with black, weather-resistant XLPE. This conductor also provides mechanical support to the entire cable assembly.
- Assembly: The insulated phase and neutral cores are stranded together in a right-hand lay.
