This NFC 33-209 Aerial Bundle Conductor (ABC) Cable 3x50+54.6+16mm² is a low-voltage overhead power cable. It features three 50mm² stranded aluminum phase conductors, a 54.6mm² aluminum alloy messenger conductor (which also serves as the neutral), and a 16mm² aluminum public lighting conductor. All conductors are insulated with XLPE. This cable is manufactured to the National French Standard NFC 33-209.

Applications

This ABC cable is designed for power distribution in residential and rural areas. It's used to reduce the risk of bushfire hazards, and the XLPE insulation, containing a high level of carbon black, provides excellent UV resistance. The cable is designed for a maximum voltage of 600V (phase to phase) and a maximum conductor temperature of 90°C. The dedicated 16mm² conductor is for public lighting applications.

Construction Details

The construction of this 3+1+1 core ABC cable includes:

  1. Phase Conductor: Multistrand round compacted hard-drawn aluminum insulated with black, weather-resistant XLPE.
  2. Neutral Messenger: Multistrand round aluminum alloy conductor insulated with black, weather-resistant XLPE. This conductor also provides mechanical support.
  3. Public Lighting Conductor: Multistrand round compacted hard-drawn aluminum conductor insulated with black, weather-resistant XLPE.
  4. Assembly: The insulated phase, neutral messenger, and public lighting conductors are stranded together with a right-hand lay.
