AAC (All Aluminum Conductor) is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor made entirely of aluminum wires, commonly used in overhead power transmission and distribution lines. The Leonids 41.6mm² conductor features 7 strands of hard-drawn 1350-H19 aluminum, offering excellent conductivity, low weight, and corrosion resistance.
The construction ensures high flexibility and mechanical strength, with layers stranded in alternating lay directions — the outer layer being right-hand lay.
Application
-
Overhead low and medium voltage power lines
-
Distribution networks in urban and rural areas
-
Coastal and corrosive environments (aluminum resists oxidation)
-
Areas where lighter weight conductors are preferred over ACSR
Standards
-
AS 1531 – Conductors – Bare overhead – Aluminum and aluminum alloy
-
Other standards available upon request (e.g., IEC, BS, ASTM)
